Twenty weeks of investor research, six rounds of typography, one launch. A process write-up.
Caspian Index began as a four-week brand sprint and grew into a twenty-week platform rebuild. The write-up below covers what we kept, what we threw out, and the typographic decisions that took six rounds.
The first direction we showed was wrong. It was correct, in the sense that it answered the brief, but the brief itself was misframed. We restarted in week three with a smaller surface and a longer reading column.
The investor portal was the harder problem. Data-dense, multi-tenant, latency-sensitive. We built it twice — first in Next.js with server components, then in Remix when the data model outgrew the abstraction.
On launch day, the marketing site shipped first. The portal followed a week later, deliberately quiet, to a private cohort of fourteen LPs. The full release came six weeks after that.
